Rawlings Threat USA Bat Review

Great All Around USA Bat

The 2019 Rawlings Threat USA bat is a solid choice for younger players. The light weight of the bat helps kids to swing the bat easier. Many of the USA bats on the market feel heavy, like wood, but the Threat is balanced and light weight.

Perfect For Young Hitters

My son’s Little League team had a few 7 year olds that were having a difficult time catching up to the pitches with bats like the Rawlings 5150, and Louisville Slugger Omaha. When we brought the Rawlings Threat out, the younger boys were able to swing the Threat faster, allowing them to not be late with their swing, ultimately giving them a better shot at success, and more confidence at the plate.

The 2019 USA Threat bat has decent pop and power, but heavier bats will definitely hit the ball harder and farther. We highly recommend the 2019 Threat for young and less experienced players using a 27″ or 28″ youth bat, as well as hitters with slow swing speeds at any age.

Here is an incredibly poor angle of my first few swings straight out of the wrapper.

I actually feel like the pop is fantastic (compared to other similarly weighted bats) but that the problem is the sweet spot is a little difficult to hit. Everything else about this bat seems absolutely perfect: grip, sound, feel (not sure about durability yet – it’s showing signs of wear and tear, but so far still going). My son has used it in about 30 games so far. He loves it and other kids started using it over their own bats as well.
