Last Summer the Easton Ghost took the fastpitch bat world by storm. Up until now, though, the revolutionary double barrel Ghost softball bat was only available in a minus 10 ounce version. Now, Easton is giving players a lighter, -11 Easton Ghost fastpitch softball bat for younger players.

Now, almost an entire year later, Easton has righted that wrong and is releasing a -11 ounce Ghost softball bat for younger players.
The Easton Ghost changed the way people expect their faspitch softball bat to perform. Since they came out last Summer, many girls that were swinging DeMarini and Lousiville Slugger fastpitch softball bats have made the switch to the double barreled Ghost.
What is low barrel compression?
The lower the barrel compression the more flexible the wall of the bat. The double barrel design of the Easton Ghost allows for an extremely flexible barrel wall on the outer barrel. The inner barrel is spaced about 1/2″ away from the outer barrel (the one that you hit the ball with), the inner barrel prevents the outer barrel from flexing too much and hitting the softball too hard (over the legal/safe speed) off the bat.
How does this help performance?
The very flexible outer barrel essentially means if a player does not hit the ball their best, the barrel flex will make up for poor/weak hits and send the softball rocketing off the barrel. When the player does hit the softball well/hard, the inner barrel will be reached and prevent the bat from performing in the illegal range.
Have you done an -11 Easton Ghost Bat Review?
We have not tested the minus 11 Fastpitch Ghost yet, but we will as soon as we get our hands on one. This bat should be a big deal because the girls who hit the ball softer are generally younger/smaller girls that are unable to swing a minus 10 ounce fastpitch bat. The new Ghost will benefit all softball players, but this version is especially beneficial for the 8 year old to 12 year old girls.
