The Easton Ghost Advanced Fastpitch Softball Bat Has Arrived

Easton Ghost Advanced Fastpitch Softball Bat

Easton has essentially upgraded every aspect of the fastpitch Easton Ghost Advanced softball bat when compared to the Ghost Dual stamp bat released in 2019. Check out the updated/upgraded list of features and tech.

Does It Make A Difference?

We put the fastpitch Ghost Advanced up against the Easton Ghost Dual Stamp side by side. The Dual Stamp Ghost is fully broken in, and the Ghost Advanced we reviewed was straight out of the wrapper. The Dual Stamp hit the ball well, but somewhat inconsistently and with way more vibration compared to the smooth feel of the new Easton Ghost Advanced. The Advanced was more forgiving than the Dual Stamp Ghost on bad hits.

The Ghost Advanced Compared To The Dual Stamp

Is The Ghost Advanced Better Than The Ghost Dual Stamp?

In short, yes. The barrel is larger. The sweet spot is larger, and you can tell when you take batting practice with it. Balls that are miss hit with the Advanced came off the bat hotter than balls that were miss hit with the Dual Stamp Ghost. That’s the real difference maker with the Advanced compared to other bats, the low barrel compression on a larger portion of the bat barrel gives the hitter the maximum amount of performance from a larger area of barrel. Traditionally, if you hit a ball close to the end cap, or closer to the handle, the softball comes off the bat slower than if you squared it up on the sweet spot.

The 2020 Easton Ghost Advanced bat is undeniably better feeling on contact than the Dual stamp fastpitch bat. The Advanced is definitely easier on the the hands and the palm. When hitting these two Ghosts side by side it’s ridiculously easy to tell the difference in the feel/comfort. Does comfort matter? In a game, not really, as far as actual performance goes, but keep in mind a bat with less/zero vibration may help with confidence for the more timid hitters out there. I wouldn’t get too caught up on the feel personally, yeah, the Advanced feels great, but the performance is where the rubber meets the road.

Is the 2020 Ghost Advanced worth the extra $100 over the Dual Stamp Easton Ghost? Or an extra $250 over the original Blue ASA Easton Ghost? In reality, probably not. A good hitter can crush with any of them.

If you have the means to go with the Advanced, you WILL notice a difference in the feel of the bat and see an increase in performance off the barrel on poorly hit balls.
