Why this score: A balanced, comfortable two-piece composite that does the fundamentals well and dampens vibration nicely. It sits just below the elite bats on top-end pop and feel, but solid durability and closeout value lift the overall grade.

Our Review

The Echo DMND sits a tier above the standard Echo, built around Marucci's MDX Max composite and Ring-Free barrel construction for a responsive, dead-spot-free sweet spot, with a liquid-gel dampening knob that soaks up vibration on mishits. It swings balanced and plays close to ready out of the wrapper, which makes it a versatile fit for contact hitters, slappers and developing power bats across high school and travel ball. The DMND colorway and finish are part of the appeal for younger players, but the performance is real — strong pop and a comfortable feel at a price below the elite two-piece class. It doesn't reach the Easton Ghost on top-end feel and pop, and as with most composites the warranty is worth keeping in mind, but as a discontinued model now at closeout pricing it is a strong value for a balanced two-piece composite. Hitters chasing the very best feel and pop should still start with our top fastpitch pick.

Also worth a look: Easton Ghost Unlimited — our top fastpitch pick.
