Why this score: An underrated, smooth two-piece composite with a forgiving barrel and excellent vibration control. It loses a little to the universal composite break-in and to thinner brand support in BBCOR than the category leaders.

Our Review

Mizuno's PWR CRBN is the all-composite top of the B23 BBCOR line, using Black Onyx Carbon Composite in a two-piece build. The barrel gets Detonator COR technology, which lowers barrel compression for a hotter trampoline and a deep, resonant crack on contact. Connecting the barrel and handle is Mizuno's patented Dual Frequency Damper, a two-piece system that reduces vibration and tunes flex so mishits feel muted rather than stingy. The swing weight is balanced, making it a versatile fit across the lineup rather than a dedicated power stick. Like any composite, it wants a short break-in before it fully opens up. Mizuno isn't the first brand most BBCOR shoppers think of, which has historically kept the PWR CRBN underrated and competitively priced for the construction it offers.
