It uses Marucci's AZR aluminum with a multi-variable wall and a ring-free barrel that widens the responsive zone, plus a liquid-gel dampening knob that takes the worst of the sting out of mishits. The feel is exactly what alloy fans want: stiff, connected and immediate, with no break-in and a barrel that holds up to a full travel season. It is not the hottest USA barrel on the market, and the one-piece build transmits more feedback than a two-piece composite on off-center contact, but for a contact-oriented youth hitter who values reliability and a sub-$200 price it is one of the easier value calls in the category. The popular -10 lands as a balanced, controllable swing for younger or developing hitters.
