OverpricedGreat for the money

Why this score: The MAV1 earns steady marks across the board: the XLD-processed barrel gives a usable sweet spot and the balanced swing is friendly, while one-piece alloy durability is a strength. Feel takes the hit because a stiff one-piece transmits more sting than a two-piece on mishits, and raw power sits below composite flagships. Value is fair at MSRP and good when discounted.

Our Review

The MAV1 is Easton's traditional one-piece alloy entry, and it does the alloy things well: stiff energy transfer, no break-in, and a balanced swing that's easy to control. The XLD-processed MAV HP barrel spreads the sweet spot a bit wider than older single-wall designs, so off-center contact is more forgiving than you'd expect from a stiff alloy. It's a solid, dependable stick rather than a class leader, and the hand feedback on mishits is real since there's no dampened connection. For the money, especially on sale, it's an honest workhorse for high school and travel hitters who prefer alloy.
