2026 Miken Freak Whiteout Maxload 2-Piece (USSSA) Slowpitch Bat Review
The 2026 Miken Freak Whiteout Maxload puts a clean white-out colorway on the two-piece Freak platform, running a 13-inch V2 Flex barrel (between the 13.5-inch base Maxload and the 12.5-inch Freak Black) with the same half-ounce Maxload end load.
Price just dropped $29 — that's 9% off and a great deal right now!

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
This bat: V2 Flex is the same proven layup as the rest of the Maxload family; 13 inches splits the Freak Maxload (13.5") and Freak Black (12.5") barrel lengths.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
This bat: Maxload end load plus a mid-length barrel keeps mass through the zone without going as compact as the Black.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
This bat: Two-piece connection and Midflex handle — the standard Freak feel.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
This bat: Same platform as the rest of the Freak line; 1-year warranty.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
This bat: $299.99 is in line with the rest of the Maxload lineup, not a standout deal.
Why this score: First-pass score. Interpolated between the 13.5-inch 2026 Freak Maxload 2-Piece USSSA (8.5) and the 12.5-inch 2026 Freak Black Maxload (8.3) using the same V2 Flex barrel tech and Maxload load — no independent testing yet on this specific colorway/barrel-length SKU.
Our Review
The 2026 Miken Freak Whiteout Maxload (MSU6FWCL) is the third barrel-length variant in Miken's two-piece Freak Maxload family, landing between the full-size 13.5-inch 2026 Freak Maxload and the compact 12.5-inch Freak Black Maxload with its own 13-inch V2 Flex barrel. The construction is otherwise identical to its siblings: a two-piece composite build pairing the V2 Flex barrel with a Midflex handle, a half-ounce Maxload end load for mass through contact, and Miken's A1 knob for bottom-hand comfort. It's offered in 25, 26 and 27 oz (34" length), carries ISA/NSA/USSSA certification (not USA Softball — Miken sells a separate 13-inch USA-certified Freak for that), and comes with Miken's 1-year warranty. CheapBats lists it at $299.99 against a $329.99 MSRP, in line with the rest of the Maxload lineup. As with any fresh composite barrel, expect a short break-in period before it reaches peak pop.
