Lab data: No independent lab data yet for MSU6KP125L (released Sept 2026). Provisional scores reference the 2026 KP23 Pro Maxload 2-piece (MSU6KPL).

Why this score: Scored alongside the TRI-ZONE two-piece KP23 Pro: the V2 Flex barrel's quicker break-in earns a slightly higher sweet-spot mark out of the box, power is the same Maxload package, feel benefits from the two-piece joint. Durability is held a notch lower than the proven TRI-ZONE build until the new layup shows it lasts; value is fair at street price.

Our Review

Miken released two new Kyle Pearson bats in September 2026, and this is the two-piece half of the pair. Where the earlier 2026 KP23 Pro two-piece uses the TRI-ZONE barrel, this one runs Miken's V2 Flex barrel — a variable-layup composite built to compress and rebound across a wide area from the first swing rather than after a few hundred hits. At 12.5 inches it sits between the 12" Pro and the 12.75" one-piece in the family. The two-piece construction joins that barrel to a Pro Flex handle, Miken's stiffer handle option, so the bat still feels connected on contact but the joint filters out the harsh vibration a one-piece sends up the hands. The .5 oz Maxload matches every other KP23. Certifications are USSSA 1.20 BPF, NSA and ISA (no USA/ASA stamp), sizing is 34" in 25–28 oz, and it comes with Miken's 1-year warranty. Until exit-velocity numbers appear for the V2 Flex layup, we are scoring it alongside the KP23 Pro Maxload two-piece it most closely mirrors; the main practical difference buyers should expect is a shorter break-in.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • V2 Flex barrel is tuned to be game-ready with minimal break-in
  • Two-piece Pro Flex handle takes the sting out of mishits while keeping a stiff, controlled swing
  • A1 knob adds bottom-hand comfort; USSSA 1.20 BPF, NSA and ISA approved

Cons

  • Confusingly close to the existing MSU6KPL 12.5" two-piece — same length, load and price, different barrel tech
  • 34" only (25–28 oz)
  • No independent hitting data yet on the V2 Flex layup
