We had the Icon ahead of several of those bats; this brings our board in line with the only broad independent ranking of the category. Value stays at 6.5 on a $449.99 list price that is the highest in that group.
Our Review
The 2027 Icon is Rawlings' flagship BBCOR and, per the launch listings, a continuation of the 2026 design: a two-piece composite with the seamless In/Tense Carbon barrel, a strengthened TPU Zero Loss connection between handle and barrel, and a tuned balance profile that Rawlings now describes as carrying a slight end-load. The 2026 version graded near the top of the category in independent testing on sweet spot and exit velocity, and nothing in the 2027 announcement points to a structural change, so the 2026 results carry to this model. It lists at $449.99 in 31"-34", the same premium tier as last year, with retail availability on September 17, 2026. Where it sits now (September 2026): Baseball Bat Bros' full BBCOR list ranks the Icon 8th, with the Icon "Chosen One" colorway 7th. Ahead of it are the Combat Spec A1 ($350 one-piece alloy) and Spec H1, the Louisville Slugger Atlas 2.0 ($350) and Select PWR, the Marucci RCKLESS and the Easton Hype Fire. That is not a criticism of the barrel — every bat in that group is excellent and the gaps are small — but it is a fair reason to hold the Icon a notch below the very top of our BBCOR board rather than at it, and it sharpens the value question: at $449.99 the Icon is the most expensive bat in that whole group by $50 to $100. If you already love the Icon's feel, nothing here should talk you out of it. If you're shopping on merit per dollar, the bats ranked above it cost less.
