2019 Louisville Slugger PXT X19 Fastpitch Bat Review
The Louisville Slugger PXT X19 is a three-piece composite with a Mass FX loaded sweet spot built for power hitters, but its premium price and Louisville's mixed composite durability hold back the value.
Been on the market a while — keep an eye out for in-season price drops.

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
Why this score: A genuine power bat with a loaded sweet spot, but a steep price, narrow appeal from the end-load, and middling durability hold down its swing-weight, durability and value scores.
Our Review
The PXT X19 (WTLFPPX19A10) was Louisville Slugger's top end-loaded fastpitch composite, aimed at stronger, power-oriented hitters. It is a three-piece, all-composite design built around a PWR STAX barrel that layers material to amplify energy across the hitting zone, with new-for-2019 Mass FX technology adding mass behind the sweet spot for more power on contact. The VCX connection lets the barrel and handle move independently to cut vibration, and an ultra-light X-Cap stretches the barrel for a longer hitting area. It is hot out of the wrapper with essentially no break-in. The trade-offs are real: at a $449 MSRP it was one of the most expensive fastpitch bats of its year, the slight end-load won't suit contact or slap hitters, and Louisville's composite bats have not been immune to the durability and dead-barrel complaints common to the category. It is a capable power bat, but we rate its value conservatively and steer most hitters to a better all-around option.
