2025 DeMarini Voodoo One USSSA Bat Review
The Voodoo One is DeMarini's one-piece DX1 alloy travel bat with an ION D end cap for a balanced swing. One-piece alloy makes it more durable than DeMarini's composites, but value and support still trail preferred brands.

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
Why this score: As one-piece alloy the Voodoo One earns solid pop and a balanced, quick swing, and one-piece aluminum is inherently sturdier than DeMarini's composites, so durability rates higher here than on the Zen — but still tempered by the brand's support reputation. Feel is typical one-piece (some sting), and value is weighted down because preferred-brand alloy bats deliver the same performance with a stronger track record.
Our Review
The 2025 Voodoo One is DeMarini's one-piece DX1 aluminum travel bat, with an ION D end cap that lightens the barrel for a balanced, quick swing and a stiff, connected feel preferred by many alloy hitters. As a one-piece alloy it is meaningfully more durable than DeMarini's composite offerings and produces honest pop with no break-in. Even so, DeMarini's overall warranty and support experience remains the weak spot relative to the brands we recommend, and comparable one-piece alloy bats from preferred makers offer similar performance with a better track record. We score the performance fairly while reflecting those concerns.

Insider Note
On a visit to DeMarini's factory in Oregon, I saw 4–5 pallets of broken bats waiting on warranty returns — and was told that's a normal day. Durability has always been the knock on DeMarini, and it's a big reason we steer hitters to brands that stand behind their product.
