Our Review

Travel-ball players have made the Hype Fire one of the most-swung composites in USSSA, and the 2027 keeps the formula intact while swapping in the new TCT barrel: a two-piece composite with the ConneXion Max connector, a size-tuned Opti-Flex handle, and the redesigned Gen2 In2uitiv soft knob. The three drops cover the usual progression — a light-swinging -10 for younger hitters, a -8 with a touch more carry, and an end-loaded -5 for the biggest swings before BBCOR. Easton claims the TCT barrel arrives at full pop with no break-in. As with the BBCOR, there's no independent test data yet on the new barrel, so this is a first-pass score leaning on the line's history — the 2026 version was among the highest-scoring USSSA composites we've reviewed — and on everything that carries over. A Junior Big Barrel version is reviewed separately.

Pros & Cons

  • Hype Fire demand means sizes sell through fast early in the season
