Why this score: The Fractal's standout score is value - it delivers Marucci's multi-variable wall and ring-free barrel under $130. Durability is high for a one piece, and swing weight is good thanks to the mid-balanced feel. Sweet spot, power and feel land in the mid-range because it is a budget barrel rather than a flagship.

Our Review

The Fractal is Marucci's entry-level one-piece alloy BBCOR, and it punches above its price by borrowing the wall technology from the more expensive CAT and F5 lines. The multi-variable wall design thins the barrel to expand the sweet spot and add forgiveness on off-center hits, while the ring-free construction removes dead spots for more consistent performance across the barrel. The mid-balanced feel lowers the swing weight for a quick, controllable swing that fits a broad range of high school hitters. It won't out-hit the flagship CAT bats, but for a clean, durable, no-break-in alloy under 130 dollars list - and around 100 on sale - it is one of the better budget BBCOR options out there.
