Our Review
The Ronin 240 is where Easton's slowpitch alloys top out. It uses ATAC, the most premium aluminum in the company's line, drawn to the thinnest barrel walls Easton makes, so the 12" barrel actually flexes and rebounds instead of just transmitting energy. That is the difference between this bat and the Rival: an alloy that behaves a little like a composite off the sweet spot. The build is one piece, end-loaded, in 34"/26oz and 34"/27oz, with a 2.2mm cushioned Flex grip. Easton lists it as approved for USA (ASA), USSSA and NSA play. The trade-off with thin walls is durability; hard-compression ball hitters will eventually dent it, which is why we hold durability in the mid-6s rather than the high 7s of the thicker-walled Hammer. At $149.99 it sits right under entry composite pricing, and that is the honest comparison: a hitter who wants maximum distance should still look at a double-wall composite, but a player who wants an alloy that is hot on the first swing, plays in every league and never needs break-in has the best Easton option here.
