The RCKLESS Gen 2 Comp JBB is the premium end of junior big barrel: a two-piece composite with Marucci's Fiber Layered Energy barrel, layered to maximize barrel flex and produce the loud composite crack travel ball loves, on a handle whose flex Marucci engineers separately for each drop. The connection is the stiffest in the line and does a good job of keeping vibration away from small hands. It comes in 26"/16oz and 27"/17oz only, -10, with the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, for $229.99. For a 7-year-old with real bat speed who is going to play a full tournament schedule, this is the bat that gives the most back on solid contact. For everyone else the alloy RCKLESS Gen 2 JBB at $179.99 is the more sensible buy: no break-in, no cold-weather worry, two more sizes. As a first pass we place it a little above the composite Hype Fire JBB on feel and sweet spot, with durability held down for a thin-wall junior composite.
