Our Review
The Eclipse has been Rawlings' entry fastpitch alloy for years and the 2027 doesn't change the formula: a -12 one-piece aluminum with the X-Tended barrel design that pushes the sweet spot longer, in six lengths from 27" through 32", with every fastpitch stamp (USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, ISA, WBSC). The 32" is the notable size; most entry alloys stop at 31", so a taller rec player can get a full-length bat here. We scored the 2025 Eclipse at 6.1 and nothing in the 2027 description suggests a change beyond graphics, so that carries as a first pass. It's a light, durable, weather-proof league bat with a stiff barrel and modest exit speeds. The Ombre at $69.99 is the same bat at -11 in fewer sizes; pick whichever length and drop fits.
