Why this score: Power is high on the Mega Mule load and value is excellent at the deep closeout price. Swing weight scores lowest because the heavy load is hard to control. Sweet spot, feel and durability are solid for a two-piece Fire Flex.

Our Review

The Clark Fire Flex Advanced is a player-model bat tied to slowpitch power hitter Travis Clark, and Easton built it around the Gen-3 240 composite material on the proven Fire Flex platform. The 12.75-inch barrel keeps the mass concentrated, and the headline feature is the Mega Mule end load, one of Easton's heaviest weightings, designed to pile momentum into contact. That heavy load makes this a specialist bat: it rewards strong, on-time swings with serious carry but is genuinely hard to handle if your bat speed is not there. Easton added a Soft knob with Power Boost technology to ease the grip end of a heavy bat. As a two-piece it dampens some of the sting that a load this heavy can produce. Approved for USSSA, ISA and NSA play, it is a deep-discount power option now that it is a closeout, but only for hitters who can drive a heavy load.
