Why this score: A well-rounded two-piece composite with a consistent barrel and a friendlier price than the Reverse. Solid across the board without a standout elite category.

Our Review

Rawlings' 2026 Mantra carries forward the In/Tense Carbon Composite barrel with a revamped Three-Step inner-barrel design intended to improve performance off the sweet spot so mishits still come off hot. The two-piece build delivers a balanced, controllable swing that whips through the zone while staying smooth on contact. Positioned a tier below the Mantra Reverse, it lists at a more approachable price and discounts further at retail, which makes it one of the better mid-premium fastpitch values. As with any composite it wants a short break-in before it reaches full pop.

Also worth a look: Easton Ghost Unlimited — our top fastpitch pick — the benchmark for feel and pop.
